About the editor

With over 25 years’ experience editing books and magazines, I have a sixth sense for spotting potentially embarrassing mistakes that authors might overlook. Whether you’re a publisher of textbooks, the owner of a self-publishing business, a translator, an experienced novelist or a first-time author, I am here to offer you my services as a top quality, reliable editor who charges reasonable rates.

Naturally I’ll spot any inconsistencies in spelling or storyline, will fix grammar errors and make suggestions but, perhaps most importantly, I will also be completely objective in ensuring it all makes sense and flows well, whatever the subject matter. I aim to add value wherever I can and be as helpful as possible to my clients – and I never miss a deadline!

Although I’m physically based in Durban, South Africa, thanks to modern technology I work with clients around the globe.

Getting back to basics, I have a diploma in journalism and still do the odd bit of writing, but my career path has led to me focusing more on copy-editing. I have been editor of Ski-Boat magazine for almost 20 years, and have been working as a freelance book editor since 2007. The variety of topics I edit is diverse – anything from parenting, children’s books, spirituality and travel to leadership, short stories, novels and biographies.
